Privacy policy

We collect only what we need to run your courses, and we never sell your data.

Last updated 19 October 2026

What we collect

  • Account details: your name, email address and profile picture, and your phone number if you add it.
  • Purchases: the courses you buy, amounts, coupon codes, your billing name, country and address for the invoice, and the payment reference from the payment provider. We never see or store your full card or bank details.
  • Learning activity: your test attempts, answers, scores, time spent and certificates, so you can track progress and resume where you left off.
  • Support messages: anything you send us by email.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, kept in server logs to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

  • To provide the courses you bought, save your progress and issue certificates.
  • To process payments, issue invoices and handle refunds.
  • To send emails about your account and orders, such as receipts and certificate notices. We don’t send marketing email without your consent.
  • To answer support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal obligations such as tax records.

Who processes data for us

We don’t sell your personal data. These providers process it on our behalf, only to run the service:

  • Clerk: sign-in and account management.
  • Razorpay and PayPal: payment processing.
  • Resend: transactional email.
  • Neon: database hosting.
  • Cloudflare and Vercel: hosting, content delivery and security.

Some of these providers store data outside your country. They are bound by contracts that require them to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and learning history while your account is open. If you delete your account, we erase your personal data within 30 days, except invoices and payment records, which tax law requires us to keep for up to 8 years.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent you gave earlier. Email support@effiot.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies and browser storage, with no advertising or tracking. Details are in the cookie policy.

Children

Effiot is meant for adults preparing for professional certifications. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we make significant changes, we will email account holders before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
